Arlington House Interactive Museum
Barbados
While walking around quaint Speightstown, this educational attraction is a must-see especially if you're holidaying with your children.
Speightstown, Barbados' second town, was an important Caribbean port in the days of sailing ships. Of course one of the main items to be shipped out from there was sugar and its by products, molasses and rum. Arlington Interactive Museum pays homage to both the town with its surprisingly rich history over the past 380 years and Barbados' sugar heritage. Arlington was the home of a wealthy merchant, built in the 18th century, and having the museum there is a means of preserving this historic treasure while putting it to good use.
