West Indian Sea Island Cotton (WISIC) is a unique strain with a distinguished reputation and endless possibilities. WISIC is sought after for its coolness, durability, versatility like any other cotton but it is set apart by its suppleness, smoothness and softness - comparable in texture and quality to silk and cashmere.
This rare, top quality textile is painstakingly hand-harvested and delicately prepared, and is produced in Barbados exclusively by Exclusive Cottons of the Caribbean. This newly built facility houses a 500lb capacity baler, 30 ton capacity weighbridge and six cotton gins.
Tours of the Exclusive Cottons of the Caribbean's ginnery and visitor centre are available Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm. You should call ahead if you plan on stopping in: +1 (246) 433 3108. Exclusive tours can also be arranged.
West Indian Sea Island Cotton items can be purchased or ordered through the display room/gift shop at the visitor centre. You can view just some of these items in our photo gallery. Personalization can be done with embroidery and/or hand painting, and visitors can watch a local artist at work as he creates art on this incredible fabric.
