Description
Barbados is the birthplace of rum, originally known as 'rumbullion' or 'kill devil.' This tour explores its history with a visit to St. Nicholas Abbey, a 17th-century plantation house producing award-winning rum. Guests tour the house, gardens, and distillery, including a rum tasting. You then travel on the Heritage Railway aboard a restored steam engine to Cherry Tree Hill and back.
After the morning tour, there is a lunch stop followed by a brief visit to the scenic coastal settlement of Bathsheba. The day concludes at the Mount Gay Rum Visitor Center, where a guided tasting session highlights the signature flavors, aromas, and nuances of various rums produced on the island.
