Clifton Hall Great House is one of Barbados’ oldest and most magnificent great houses. Its captivating history as a plantation began in 1656 with Ferdinand Paleologus, a direct descendant of Constantine, the last Byzantine (Greek) Emperor, who is buried at the nearby St. John’s church.
This treasure was recently rescued from ruination by the owners who have transformed the house for modern living and yet retained its historical character. The tour, given by the owner himself Massimo Franchi, will give you the opportunity to enjoy this medieval structure, with its gracious Palladian double entrance staircase, arcaded gallery, and spacious reception rooms.
Tours take place Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. To book, phone Massimo on 240-5198 or email info@cliftonhallgreathouse.com
The tour will end with complimentary refreshments and cake whilst you sit and relax.
10am - 3pm.
